Children's National Medical Center selects eClinicalWorks's EMR and PM software

CBR Staff Writer Published 08 January 2009

Children's National Medical Center of Washington, District of Columbia has selected ambulatory clinical systems provider eClinicalWorks's electronic medical record and practice management software for its Children's IQ Network.

Community pediatricians will be connected to Children's National Medical Center through their eClinicalWorks EMR. According to eClinicalWorks, Children's IQ Network will use its Electronic Health eXchange (eEHX) community health record to additionally connect public schools, foster care program and mobile medical vans as well as state immunizations registries, commercial labs and other regional health care providers.

Children's IQ Network is expected to implement eClinicalWorks unified EMR/ practice management (PM) system using a software-as-a-service model so members are able to access the system via the internet, said eClinicalWorks.

The system is expected to streamline clinical processes between practice locations and promote patient safety while reducing costs. Providers will also have access to eBO, which uses meta-data to give the practice more flexibility through the creation of customized reports and by performing clinical and financial analysis. eEHX will create a community record that is expected to enable physicians to have access to patients' vital health information and allow physicians to exchange data effectively, added eClinicalWorks.

Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks, said: Children's National is undertaking a wide-ranging project that will greatly benefit the care received in the greater Washington area. We are proud to be chosen by one of the nation's top pediatric hospitals and excited to be an integral part of this groundbreaking physician's network.
