CA has announced plans to expand its India Technology Center, which has 1,600 employees, with an additional investment of $30m to build a new facility on its campus in Hyderabad to accommodate an additional 1,000 workers, once completed in late 2010.
Opened a year ago after four years of CA R&D activity in India, the ITC contributes to the development of major CA products in the areas of IT management, governance and security. The ITC plays a key role in applying CA’s Enterprise IT Management (EITM) vision to simplify IT management for customers and partners all over the world, developing services to govern, manage and secure IT environments. It represents approximately 25% of its total R&D capacity.
Ajei Gopal, executive vice president of enterprise IT management at CA, said: The ITC is one of CA's largest locations and is essential to CA's continued ability to deliver industry-leading solutions to our customers. With this new building, we will be able to accommodate anticipated growth in our R&D, technical support, IT infrastructure management, applications development, and professional services teams.
In the first week of October 2008, CA announced that it has acquired IDFocus LLC and its identity management technology, ACE. IDFocus software provides identity management capabilities with its technology and also it prevents segregation of duties (SoD) violations.
